Growing up in a city in the middle of the Netherlands, sitting still was never a thing for me and reading certainly wasn’t, so I was always looking for other ways to entertain myself. So I was always trying to be creative and making things with whatever was available. School I was never really my thing, too many books and too little making. In high school I found out about making furniture and it quickly appealed to me. How I could be busy making with natural materials at school. That is why I went to the HMC, a professional furniture making school of the highest level in the Netherlands. There I was able to learn a lot about the craft of making furniture. And later also about design in my specialization period. As a next step I am now at the art academy to make my dream as a furniture designer a reality.
